South Shore Sexual Health offers customized presentations on any subject related to sexual health, including consent workshops for school-aged youth. They also offer professional development sessions for educators, diverse resources for distribution or on their website and safer sex supplies (a donation is requested).

Harbour House is a transition house for female-identified people escaping violence and offers programming for school-aged youth in Lunenburg/Queens counties from Grade 6 - 12 including girls groups and one-on-one counselling.

Second Story’s Youth Coordinator hosts a variety of programs including Girl Talk (a free day camp program for girls 9-12 years old to enhance self-esteem and confidence), Striking Balance (a program to support young women age 13-15 in creating balance in their lives) and Health Relationships for Youth (a school-based violence prevention peer education program offered in partnership with the Antigonish Women’s Resource Centre for Grade 9 students). YMCA King Street Youth Centre offers a variety of free programming and youth leadership training for those aged 11 – 18.

As well as providing 24/7 medical and forensic care to survivors of recent (within the last 120 hours) sexual assault, aged 13 years and older at South Shore Regional and Fishermen’s Memorial Hospitals by SANE-trained, registered nurses, the SANE Program Coordinator for this region also offers school and community presentations.

Trafficking & Exploitation Services System (TESS) is a partnership of over 50 agencies from across Nova Scotia working together to respond to the Commercial Exploitation of Children and Youth. There are multiple working groups including one on the south shore.

The iHeal app provides personalized ways for woman to stay safe while addressing their basic needs, such as safe housing, food, health and wellbeing, childcare, finances, and legal options, through interactive activities and topics. It can also be used by frontline workers and service providers across different sectors to help women assess risks as well. iHEAL provides women with 24/7 support and referred to it as a “tangible tool” they can access while awaiting services. The app is available in both English and French, can be accessed from a computer or downloaded to a mobile device. More information about iHEAL can be found here.
